CULTURE vs REVELATION OF GOD

Our culture is one of our greatest heritage. However, it has become a great threat to an accurate understanding of the thoughts and ways of God . It’s clearly written by the Prophet Isaiah that the ways and thought pattern of man is different from God’s.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah:55:8-9

You will miss so much when your understanding of God is influenced by the tradition or custom of the society. Culture is great and beautiful, I so much celebrate this wonderful heritage. However, when it comes to Spiritual things, I believe culture has little or no point to contribute.

It’s somehow very difficult for an average African man to believe that his sin has been paid for. The African culture imposes in you a sense of responsibility which is good but not perfect. Culture believes you have to pay dearly for all faults and trespasses, you’ve got to work for all blessing and earnings! Our culture paints a false image of God!

Culture advocates for hard labor before a man can be blessed whereas GOD says he doesn’t need your labor to bless you. You have been blessed before you were formed in your mother’s womb: Gen 1:27.

Apostle also declared this to the Ephesians: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians:1:3).

Your blessings have been perfected IN CHRIST, you need no work or hard labor to express and experience it! When you see God in the light of culture, you’ll receive the reward for your labor but when you see God in the light of CHRIST, you’ll receive reward for CHRIST’S LABOR. The reward for Christ’s labor is better for me! All you’ve got to do is BELIEVE!!

Culture also believes that you’ve got to PLEASE GOD to earn His Love but GOD the Bible says that We love him, because HE FIRST LOVED US (1 John 4:19, emphasis is mine). He didn’t need our love walk before He loved us, our love for Him is a PRODUCT OF HIS LOVE FOR US! HE FIRST LOVED US, not the other way round! But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Romans:5:8-11

Culture says you have to PAY FOR YOUR SINS but God is saying with a LOUD VOICE that CHRIST HAS PAID BY HIS BLOOD! But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL INHERITANCE. (Hebrews:9:11-12,14-15, emphasis is mine)

Dear Friend, all you have to do is to WALK and LIVE in this CONSCIOUSNESS FOR THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY THEIR FAITH!! Stop seeing God in the light of CULTURE!! God’s love is unfathomable, His ways are beyond imagination and His thoughts beyond comprehension

Christ has been made unto you JUSTIFICATION, RIGHTEOUSNESS, SANCTIFICATION and WISDOM
