THE GOSPEL VS MY REPUTATION

 

2Cor 3:2  [No] you yourselves are our letter of recommendation (our credentials), written in your hearts, to be known (perceived, recognized) and read by everybody.

Hebrews 12:1  THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us

1Ti 3:7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Your reputation is what people in your immediate sphere, environment or community believe and say about you. It's their perceptions of your lifestyle and character. It is largely influenced by what the see you do in the public. They might be somehow ignorant about your private life but there is an impression in their hearts about you. This impressions are primarily dependent on how you live, where you go and what you.

There are times we are tempted to act without minding what people say or think. We're tempted to live life without caring about public opinions and impressions. As good as this may sound, you must understand that your reputation before men has the capacity of affecting your message positively or negatively. THE GOSPEL IS VERY POWERFUL BUT YOUR LIFESTYLE BEFORE MEN HAS THE ABILITY TO MAKE IT OF NO EFFECT

We are surrounded by a great cloud of witness. Know that you can't do Ministry effectively before those who already have negative impressions about you... Ministry is FIRST UNTO GOD AND IMPORTANTLY UNTO THE PEOPLE. You have responsibilities unto God and unto people.

Not only your mouth should preach Christ, your lifestyle must also glorify his name. Your lifestyle may water down the great message you carry.

You are the Epistles men are reading! Yes you don't care what anybody says, but your lifestyle might have started denting the pure MESSAGE you represent... A BISHOP MUST HAVE GOOD REPORTS! CHRISTIANITY ISN'T ONLY PERSONAL, IT IS ALSO PUBLIC!

YOUR PUBLIC LIFE IS EITHER A PLUS OR MINUS TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE YOU REPRESENT. The day you understand these truths, you'll be more conscious of what you do... Your actions have the capacity of either bringing men to Christ or making me misinterpret your convictions and its authenticity

ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL BUT NOT ALL ARE EXPEDIENT

The next time you say you don't care what anybody says, remember that what people see and say about you will either give you access to win their trust in the Lord or block their hearts from receiving the powerful Gospel you carry...

LIVE RIGHT AND LIVE HONORABLY THAT THE GLORY OF GOD MAY BE SEEN AND APPRECIATED IN YOUR LIFE! 🥰

Dear brother and sister, so many people have seen you and truly Honor your Righteous lifestyle. Some are silently praying to be like you. The day they find you in a questionable atmosphere, they lose confidence and their weak hearts is stolen by the devil..

Why should my liberty by a source of offence or stumbling for the weaker vessels? The Gospel I carry is much more powerful than my personal freedom, I therefore give myself restraints that my life may inspire men positively and NOT DISCOURAGE

Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A RELIGION BUT AN ALLEGIANCE TO LIVE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD TO BE REVEALED EVERYTIME AND EVERYWHERE!
